As a result of the above rain many of our area trails were wet or closed Monday. The temperature dropped from 87° to 69° in just one hour as the cold front moved in Sunday evening. Oh yes, you can feel the difference outside today with temperatures down a good 15°. Another big difference? The wind. The Minneapolis/St.Paul Airport clocked a wind gust of 52 mph Sunday. Aside from the non-thunderstorm wind gusts during the day, several reports of wind damage came in as the storms moved over the metro Sunday evening.
Tuesday will feel like September with high temperatures barely getting out of the 60s. Another warm-up starts late this week with highs again approaching 90° by the weekend. An isolated thunder threat is back on Wednesday.
