Good news for those of us craving some single track. Our chances of rain this week look rather slim. Sunday’s wind, low dewpoints and sun really helped to dry out the woods. Lebanon had a wind gust of 19 mph and the relative humidity got down to a low 21%, Murphy-Hanrehan clocked a wind gust of 21 mph with a 14% RH and Theo measured a wind gusts of 26 mph with a 21% RH. Dry, Canadian air will stay in place through Thursday keeping conditions a little cool…especially overnight when frost and freeze will be a concern for plant growers.
Speaking of plant growers. Farmers really need some rain!
99.2% of the state is in some form of a drought. This is not surprising considering that soil moisture was below normal before winter. The unimpressive snow this winter combined with a dry early spring has only furthered the drought across the state.
