I’m sure many of you will be heading to Crosby this Saturday for the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Festival. The day-long festival is jam-packed with live music and events themed around biking and the “Spirit of Cuyuna”. There will be group rides and races all day but the night ride might be worth holding out for because it’s going to be one hot and humid afternoon. Prepare for some serious heat with highs near 90° and dewpoints in the 60s which will make it feel even steamier.
The weekend warm-up is just continuing the trend of above normal temperatures in Minnesota. According to University of MN climatologist Mark Seeley, since last June, 10 out of the past 11 months have been warmer than average. We also just had the warmest meteorological spring (March-May) in the Twin Cities. Now, 70% of 2012 has been warmer than normal.
Wednesday- An isolated thunderstorm. Majority of the trails stay dry. H: Low 80s
Thursday- Partly sunny. Good day for a ride before the heat arrives. H: Low 80s

Cooler weather returns with temperatures returning closer to normal early next week.
